For many, it will be the first time they visit Rosario in Argentina and maybe even hear about the city.

However, this is not going to be the first time that Rosario will be mentioned at an international level.

If I say, “the Che”, many of you will know that I am referring to Ernesto “Che” Guevara and you most certainly also heard of Leo Messi, well, both of them were born in Rosario, Argentina.

Also in the sport field, Rosario is also the birthplace of the current Manager of  the FC Barcelona, Gerardo Martino, once saw Maradona playing for one of its football teams, Newel’s Old Boys and finally it is the place where the “Leonas” Argentina women’s national field hockey team won the Women Hockey World Cup in 2010.

The Dakar 2014 starting in Rosario, Argentina on 5th January and finishing in Valparaiso, Chile on 18th January will be one the major sporting event ever seen in Rosario.
